CS-309-25 Acrylic Curing and Sealing Compound is a clear, transparent, ready-to-apply, non-yellowing liquid compound formulated from special acrylic polymers and quick-evaporating solvents that effectively cures and seals freshly placed concrete. CS-309-25 meets maximum VOC content limits of 700 g/L for Concrete Curing and Sealing Compounds as required by the U.S. EPA Architectural Coatings Rule.
Once properly applied, CS-309-25 provides an impermeable seal for optimum moisture-retention. This produces a hard, dense, high-compressive strength concrete. CS-309-25 will minimize hair-checking as well as premature cracking, dusting, spalling and other common defects that result when concrete is not properly cured. This easy-to-use compound dries quickly and protects the concrete during construction. It resists adhesion of mortar droppings permits easier clean-up.
Surface Preparation
Existing (Old) Concrete: Concrete surface must be clean and dry with all stains, oil, grease, dust and dirt removed prior to application. We recommend ULTRITE™ DEGREASER from W. R. MEADOWS for cleaning. New Concrete: CS-309-25 should be applied when surface water has completely disappeared and the concrete surface will not be marred by walking workmen.
Application Equipment
Application Method . . Use a sprayer or short-nap roller to apply a uniform film. Avoid puddling in low areas . . . if puddles occur, brush or roll them out. A standard industrial-grade sprayer, equipped with a neoprene hose and gaskets, as well as a 9505-E spray tip (or equivalent) is recommended for best results.
For optimum performance, apply first coat at 14.7 m²/L (600ft.²/U.S. gallon). After the first coat has thoroughly drived, apply a second coat at 14.7 m²/L (300 - 600ft.²/U.S. gallon). NOTE: The second coat should be applied at a right angle.
Drying Time
CS-309-25 dries quickly. Drying times may be extended depending on application rate, temperature, humidity and project conditions. Restrict foot traffic for at least four hours . . . 12 hours is preferable.
Clean Up
Application equipment should be cleaned promptly after use with Xylene or Toluene.
Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by W. R. MEADOWS’ personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations only, and are not to supervise or provide quality control on the job-site.
